Our process

How we vet our contractors.

Vetting isn't a checkbox. It's an in-depth, six-stage process that only around 8% of applicants pass.

01

Application & credentials

Companies House records, trading history, accreditations (FMB, Gas Safe, NICEIC) and insurance certificates are checked first-hand. We also note any specialist qualifications, such as Certified PassivHaus Tradesperson.

02

Reference calls

We speak to at least three recent clients - architects, designers and homeowners - about workmanship, communication and snagging.

03

Live site audit

For specialist trades we run a live site walkround - typically by video - to confirm site management, safety standards and quality of finish.

04

Financial stress-test

Three years of accounts are reviewed to ensure the contractor can comfortably manage the size and length of your project.

05

Design literacy review

Portfolio walk-through with our team - we look for an eye for detail, an understanding of design intent and a respectful approach to drawings.

06

Annual re-vetting

Membership isn't permanent. Insurance, accounts and recent client feedback are re-checked every year to keep our network honest.

Confidence, by design.

Submit your brief and we'll introduce you to contractors who have passed every stage.
